First Days of Preschool in Rye

We are mostly settled in our new house....most boxes are unpacked but will take a long time to organize. The kids have adjusted quickly. Lila started school last week (she fit right in) and today was Grant's first day (he did surprisingly well as Mama's "velcro" child). Mama loves the everything so far - the new house, the easier lifestyle with the kids. Dadda is having a harder time adjusting to the commute to the city, but it's only been 1 week. We will take more pictures of our house soon.

Last Weekend in NYC

Big news...we are moving to the suburbs! We've loved our time in NYC, but it's time for more space and a yard, especially for the kids. We are moving to Rye, NY which is in Westchester County of New York...only a 25 minute train ride into the city where Daddy will still work. Our move date is Sept 9. For our last weekend in NYC, Uncle Jeffrey came to visit for a last hurrah.

Grant Turns 2 years old!

Our little Grant turned 2 years old on Sat, Aug 27th, the day that Hurricane Irene hit NYC. Luckily, we spent the prior week back in Southampton Beach, NY at Mike's boss's vacation house. His boss generously offered his amazing beach house while he was on a safari in Kenya. Mama took the kids out there for the week and Dadda joined right before we had to turn around and head back to NYC to avoid flooding and power outages. Grant is growing up so fast and wants to do everything big sister Lila does. We think Grant is the smartest little toddler who does not talk. So, Happy Birthday Grant!!

Hamptons in July - Part 1

We just returned from a glorious month in Southampton, NY. We shared a house with Lila's best friend Emmy's family. The kids had a wonderful time swimming in the pool, going to the beach (Lila and Grant loved splashing in the waves), going to outdoor concerts, seeing family and friends, eating ice cream, enjoying our peaceful deck with meals and doing artwork and just being in nature. Alas, we are back in the hot city - here are the first batch of photos from the iPhone....will post more once it's all downloaded from our camera.

Summer Visits

Here are some pictures of our latest summer visits/visitors. As of now, we are in Southampton, NY for the month of July at a beach house. We are sharing a house with our good friends John and Alycia who have 2 kids, Emily and Bailey. Emily and Lila have been best friends since 7 months old and they are having a really fun time! Grant is keeping up and is part of the gang. The 3 kids are sharing a room so there is a lot of talking and later bedtimes. Little Bailey is 1 year old, so next year will be more part of the clan. A lot of "last days" before the summer officially begins. Lila closed out her school year at Chelsea Day School with a Watermelon Party, got her gymnastics medal and celebrated Father's Day....
